Based in The Trout Capital of Georgia, Fannin County, North Georgia Trout Fishing, LLC offers personally catered float and wade trout fishing trips on public and private waters in the North Georgia Mountains.
Whatever your dream day of trout fishing consists of, we can make it happen. All trips include all gear, tackle, flies, tippets, lures, bait, etc.
No experience or equipment is necessary, however clients are welcome to bring their own gear if they wish. Most waters we fish are well suited for a 4-6wt, 8-10 foot fly rods or 5-6 foot ultra light and light spinning gear.
We love to teach beginner and novice fly-fishermen.
A cooler with ice and bottled waters will be provided by the guide on all trips.
All anglers 16 and up must have a valid Georgia Freshwater Fishing License and Trout License. A link to the license purchase online portal is available under the links tab on this page.
Who We Are
Owner/Guide Joe DiPietro
North Georgia Trout Fishing, LLC, is the culmination of a lifelong passion for angling and more than decade spent fishing some part of nearly every day on the Toccoa River tailwater. Some days that meant I'd spend an hour on the water alone and others it meant dawn till dusk with clients on a float trip.
Some days this makes you the one who fools a great fish. On others it makes you the only guy fishing in the snow.
Rather than gloat on my abilities, I'd instead invite you to look over the reviews on my facebook page, fishingbooker.com, and the reviews on this website. I believe they speak for themselves.
Creating relationships with repeat clientele and watching them achieve goals in trout fishing is what it's all about for me.
I love teaching others how to trout fish. Whether that is with a spinning rod, or a fly rod it doesn't really matter. I enjoy both and believe they both have an equal place in a fishery.

Guide/Webmaster Zach Norton
Zach grew up in the mountains of North Georgia and started trout fishing at a young age on the Toccoa River. After graduating from UNG in 2012, Zach began teaching science and coaching middle school athletics in North Georgia. Zach’s passion for trout fishing and the outdoors continued to grow throughout his life, and he transitioned from traditional spin tackle to fly fishing in 2013. He bought a drift boat in 2016 and started float fishing many of the Southeast’s tailwater trout fisheries chasing large trout on the fly. Zach took a break from teaching in 2017 in order to dedicate more time to his passion of teaching others how to catch trout with a fly rod. The transition took some time, but Zach eventually found his niche working as a guide where it all started, the Toccoa River. Zach considers his career in middle school education to be a great asset as a guide. He is patient, knowledgeable, and great at teaching anglers of all different ages and abilities how to enjoy the sport of fly fishing.
